Jumna is believed to be darkish in colour as against the white-
ness of the water of the Ganges. It could not be the Jumna
for the Jumna is full of water, while the object which the Rsis
Saw from a distance had none. satra-Literally, moonlight;
here pleasant lustre. ar TaTI 71:-The lustre of emeralds is not

poor. Learning and wealth seldom go together-most surely

declined in bhe plaral, cf, आपः सुमनसो वर्षां अप्सरःसिकतासमाः। एते
स्त्रियां बहुत्वे स्युरेकत्वेऽप्युत्तरत्रिकम् ॥ नाशो हन्त etc.- Cood men die
