that the whole of this Vian is a nosegay of charming &
fragrant fiowers culled a: diferent times, and then bound

It is believed that the young ones of cuckoos are reared by

appearance, artil the young birds are discovered by the crows

The metze is मन्दाक्रान्ता. मन्दाकान्ता जलधिषडगैम्भौ नतौ ताद् गुरू चेत् ।
Help however small, rendered in the nick of time is far
more effective than assistance lavishly offered when the
moment of necessity is passed. The poet has & fling at the
patrons who would help-but not in time of need. Compare
the words, and note the biting sarcasm, of Dr. Johnson in his
famous letter to Lord Ohesterfield- " Is not the patron, my
lord, one who looks with unconcern on
life in the water, and, when he has reached ground, encumbers
him with help ?
