To be got or obtained, fall to one's share; त्वदन्यः संशयस्यास्य छेत्ता न ह्युपपद्यते [Bg.6.39;13.18.]
To take place, occur, happen, be produced; देवि एवमुपपद्यते M.1 even as you say, just so; अर्थास्तस्योपपत्स्यन्ते Mb.; उपपन्ना हि दारेषु प्रभुता सर्वतोमुखी [Ś.5.26.]
