SAHASRANĀMA (N)   (Sahasra=thousand; nāma= name). Hymns containing the thousand names of Viṣṇu, Śiva and Devī are generally known as Sahasranāma. The recitation of these names is considered to be annihilative of all sins. Sahasranāma of Viṣṇu is more popular.
