Grass in general; किं जीर्णं तृणमत्ति मानमहतामग्रेसरः केसरी
[Bh.2.29.] A blade of grass, reed, straw.
Anything made of straw (as a mat for sitting); often used as a symbol of worthlessness or uselessness; तृणमिव लघुलक्ष्मीर्नैव तान- संरुणद्धि
