०मांडणें   विलक्षण गोष्टी करावयास लागणें . कौतुक न . चमत्कार ; आश्चर्यकारक कृत्य . अदभुत कौतुक वर्तिले जाण । ऐका तें भाविकहो ।
०दृष्टि  स्त्री. आश्चर्यकारक गोष्टी पाहिल्या असतां पापण्याचे केस ( भुंवया ? ) आकुंचित होतात , बुबुळें व तारका चढतात , अशी कृति करणें . हा अदभुत रसाचा अभिनय आहे .
०रस  पु. काव्यांतील नवरसांपैकीं एक रस .
०शांति  स्त्री. ( शेंडेनक्षत्र , धरणीकंप इ० ) भावी अरिष्टसूचक कांहीं अदभुत झालें असतां त्या अरिष्टाचे निरसनार्थ जें होमादि कर्म ( विधि ) करतात तें .

अद्भुतः [adbhutḥ] a.  a. [Uṇ.5.1 अदि भुवो डुतच्; according to Nir. न भूतम् 'the like of which did not take place before.]
Wonderful, marvellous; ˚कर्मन् of wonderful deeds; ˚गन्ध having wonderful smell; ˚दर्शन, ˚रूप; prodigious; extraordinary, transcendental, supernatural.
Ved. Unobserved, invisible (opp. दृश्य).
तम् A wonder, a wonderful thing or occurrence, a prodigy, miracle; देव अद्भुतं खलु संवृत्तम् Ś.5 a wonderful or unexpected occurrence; आकालिकमनध्यायं विद्यात्सर्वाद्भुतेषु च [Ms.4.] 118.
