Ex. तुम्ही कचेरींत बोलून माझी थोप or आबरूची थोप संभाळा: also keeping one's place or preserving one's credit. Ex. तुझ्या शेरभर तुपानें माझ्या प्रयोजनाची or जेवणाची थोप संभाळली; एवढ्या रुपयांनीं माझी थोप धरली.

 f  State of being stopped and brought up (as of a boat). Stopping, a rest; also a place to stop or rest. Ex. ह्या डोंगरांत चढतांना तीन थोपी घ्याव्या लागतात. Fig. A terminus or term, an end or a limit assigned.
